Georgia's Lips

My goddaughter Georgia's lips (above) were inspired by Jessie J's. Don't they look great?

Jessie J's stud lips from the 'Do it Like a Dude' vid (ouch!)
An alternative place to vejazzle!

Alexa in Korea

Seriously, how good would it be to live Alexa Chung’s life for a day? Most recently she flew to Korea to attend a Mulberry event in the Grand Hyatt Hotel. She DJ-ed at the party and wore a pleated shirt dress from the brand’s autumn/winter ’11 collection. Jel. In other news, I am fantasizing about a top-to toe lilac look (v. flattering on us brunettes). The ‘Google image-ing’ starts now.

Clouded Judgement

Ugh the very idea of The Cloud makes my skin crawl. Photoshop-ing family snaps? Whatever next? Maybe whiten Rover’s teeth while you’re at it? Make the baby look a wee bit cuter? ‘The cloud gives me the family nature never could.’ Anyone else have a massive problem with this? Airbrushing means that Kate Moss could be a Vogue cover girl when she’s ninety but I draw my personal line at making what should be a genuine, happy family moment appear more ‘perfect’ to outsiders. There are few adverts that make me growl at the TV screen but this, my friends, is one of them. Gross

Sunday Afternoon

My favourite singleton Sunday afternoon activity: lighting a Diptqyue candle or two, making a pot of milky, sugary tea in my Maxwell Williams tea pot and watching several episodes of Mad Men deep underneath the covers. Ahhhh.

Gemma's Hair Gets a Holiday

I did my friend Gemma’s highlights – she wanted very subtle colour that wasn’t too blond. A roll of tin foil and some burnt fingers (mine) later and I think we got there. Highlighting is my new favourite thing to do so if anyone fancies being my next subject, just get in touch by commenting. I used Live Colour XXL in their lightest shade and some bits from Sally's Hair and Beauty shop http://www.sallyexpress.com/.

Henry Holland's ‘Debut’ – a Celebration of British Fashion

Fundraising has never been as fashionable; Henry Holland introduces ‘Debut’, an exhibition and event in aid of Cancer Research UK.

On 24th March 2011, at One Mayfair, Henry will be joining forces with the fashion world’s leading designers, models and photographers for a spectacular night celebrating British fashion.

With supporters including Lulu Kennedy, Paul Smith and (my favourite) Colin McDowell MBE, Debut is a must for anyone with an eye for style. Guests will be treated to an exhibition of British fashion through the ages including previously unseen photographs and exclusive items from influential industry leaders, including Mary Quant, Nicholas Kirkwood, Christopher Kane, Tracey Boyd, Kate Moss and Rankin, alongside music from top performers and DJs. All the pieces exhibited will be available to buy at auction on the night, giving guests a chance to get their hands on a unique piece of British fashion history.

Presented by TV’s Nick Grimshaw and Miquita Oliver, the evening will raise vital funds towards the charity’s life-saving research into gynaecological cancers – such as ovarian, womb and cervical. Currently around 50 women a day in the UK are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer and ovarian cancer alone was the cause of around 4,370 deaths in 2008.

Henry Holland says: “I’m incredibly excited to be part of this amazing initiative for a hugely important cause. Cancer affects so many people, I personally have lost people close to me to the disease and I’m thrilled to be able to support Cancer Research UK in any way I can. Debut is set to be an unmissable date in the 2011 fashion calendar. We have the support of some great industry experts and we aim to make sure it is an unforgettable evening.”

Further information about Debut can be found at www.debutevent.org or by emailing debut@cancer.org.uk. To find out more about Cancer Research UK's work or to find out how to support the charity, please call 020 3469 6699 or visit www.cancerresearchuk.org.

Gilding the Lily

Look at Mulberry’s new ‘Jewelled Lily’ bag! So beautiful Mulberry fans!

Mulberry say:

The production of a Jewelled Lily is a concoction of hand-cut leather, classic Mulberry components, pots and pots of crystals and plenty of love, care and attention. The same style and size as the regular Lily made in natural leather, this version has that extra sparkle courtesy of 2596 Swarovski crystals and 460 manually applied Mulberry rivets. The cutting of the leather, applying of the crystals and rivets, and the finishing of the bag is all carried out in the UK and takes approximately 18 hours per bag. The delicate nature of attaching so many individual details means that no two bags are exactly the same, making the Jewelled Lily a truly exclusive addition to your Mulberry collection.

The Jewelled Lily is a limited edition piece and will retail for £3500.
